Verify a Pool-Cue Listing Without Assuming Inventory
A cue page can remain searchable after its configuration, seller role or availability has changed. Before treating a listing as a buying option, record what the page actually proves and what still requires direct confirmation. This guide verifies availability evidence; it does not authenticate a cue or promise Ariakon inventory.

Open one availability ledger per exact item
Search results, cached snippets and category pages are discovery evidence. They can identify a possible item code, but the exact current page and seller confirmation control the availability record.
A visible price does not prove the item can ship. Likewise, an add-to-cart control can fail later because a variation, region or quantity is unavailable. Record each stage instead of collapsing them into available.
| Field | Record | Failure condition |
|---|---|---|
| LISTING | Exact URL, page title, item code and saved date | Family or category page is treated as one exact item |
| DATE | Visible update, capture time and any archive date | Undated text is called current without confirmation |
| SELLER | Manufacturer, distributor, retailer, marketplace or private seller | Seller role is assumed from page appearance |
| CONFIGURATION | Length, weight range, shaft, tip, joint, wrap and included pieces | A selectable field or photo is treated as delivered fact |
| STOCK | Explicit status, quantity if shown, cart result and direct confirmation | A page or price alone is treated as inventory |
| FALLBACK | Second verified route, service alternative or stop decision | Urgency turns an unknown into a purchase claim |
Choose a pool cue with a structured checklist for the broader selection decision.
Identify an unknown cue before ordering components when the physical cue lacks a confirmed identity.
Separate page state from product state
Keep construction claims in a separate evidence sheet. An availability check should carry the exact delivered configuration, but it should not turn retailer copy into a verified material or performance fact.
For a used listing, ask for current photographs of the whole cue, joint faces, pin or insert, collars, tip, butt cap and identifying marks. A stock photograph cannot show wear, modification or the contents of the actual sale.
| Observation | What it supports | What it does not support |
|---|---|---|
| Search result exists | The URL was indexed | Current page, stock or configuration |
| Product page loads | The page is reachable now | Order acceptance or shipment |
| Price and options display | The page describes selectable fields | Those fields are currently on hand |
| Cart accepts exact option | A transaction step accepted the selection | Final allocation, inspection or delivery |
| Seller confirms item code and configuration | Dated human confirmation for that seller | Another seller's inventory or long-term availability |
Use a dated confirmation message
Ask the seller to confirm the exact item code, whether the pictured or described unit is the one offered, all included pieces, current weight and shaft choice, visible condition, return window, shipping region and whether payment reserves that exact configuration. Save the reply with the ledger date.
Do not request hidden construction guesses. If component fit matters, ask for accessible joint, face and collar measurements with units or arrange inspection by a qualified cue technician.
Worked ledger: reachable is not orderable
A listing loads, shows a price and describes two shaft choices. The exact option returns unavailable in the cart, and the seller confirms no replenishment date. Record LISTING and DATE as present, CONFIGURATION as page-described, STOCK as unavailable and FALLBACK as compare an independently verified alternative. Do not publish the displayed price as current inventory evidence.
A second listing accepts the exact option and the seller confirms the item code, configuration and shipment date. That supports a dated purchase decision from that seller. It does not establish Ariakon stock, a universal specification or permanent availability.
